WANT OF FREEDOM

investigates a translation of the social and institutional experience of re-entry into society after incarceration through the subversion of objects for every day use.

> The Narrative Toolkit (research development, participatory futures workshop)
> Difficult Tableware (participatory experience, speculative inquiry)

These inquiries were posed to the public during three separate events:

1. Research and participatory futures workshop at The Pratt Institute, Industrial Design Department. Members of the criminal justice community were invited to participate in a research workshop designed by students to investigate possible futures in criminal justice reform. (Narrative Toolkit)

2. New Approaches by Design: The Criminal Justice System at the Church Street School for Music and Art. Members of the public were invited to participate in a town hall style discussion facilitated by speculative projects investigating possible futures of criminal justice reform. (Difficult Tableware + Narrative Toolkit)

3. Members of the Pratt Institute community were invited to participate in a presentation of speculative projects investigating possible futures of criminal justice reform, and to consider the role of design in public health and social work. (Difficult Tableware + Narrative Toolkit)
